The Short Circuit

Mike Morgan's technical journal

The Short Circuit is my technical journal.  It is intended to objectively share real world engineering techniques with working engineers, without the marketing hype found on many websites.

My name is Mike Morgan, and I am an electronics engineer working at a consulting firm.  I reside in Minnesota, have a lovely wife and two children, who, like all children in Minnesota, are above average.

I have 15+ years' experience developing ASICs, FPGAs, PCBs, and occasionally firmware.  Projects I've worked on include development in signal processing for military and avionics guidance systems, VoIP firewalls, Core Internet Routers, WiFi, general systems specification and analysis, module through system level automated validation including synthesizable testbenches.  Languages used include VHDL, Verilog, C/C++, Perl, English, and bad English.
